I am a "sort-of" retired news photographer from Washington, DC, living and working in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico...I am done covering Presidents and taking it back a notch to shoot well planned photos.
I started in a small darkroom once I got the bug of photojournalism at my university.....First it was at a local paper in Long Beach, California, and soon I started stringing for the Associated Press in Los Angeles....a couple of other jobs and FAST FORWARD...I have worked for Agence France-Presse (AFP) for 27 years covering the White House, Pentagon, State Department, and Capitol Hill.. and with breaking news, and sports all over the world. I have literally been all over the world with VIPs like the President, the Secretary of Defense or Sectary of State traveling on their plane taking the photos you see in the news. Seventeen hard years at the White House covering various presidents day in and out. For example, I was on AF-1 on 911. Before AFP, I worked for United Press International(UPI) for 9 years as the San Diego Photo Manager covering a big regional news diet into Nevada and Arizona. UPI sent me to some of the biggest events like several Olympic games..In my last 7 years at AFP I was promoted to Washington Chief Photographer/Assignment Editor and have been making the the assignments for our team covering the White House, Capitol Hill, etc.
I have the skills and experience. Send me a note via the "Contact Paul" page. I would love to talk over you photo needs and see what I can do for you.
